Kids on skis

on January 17th, 2011 at 9:53:44 AM

Step 1. learn to stand up on skis
Step 2. learn how to ride the ski lift
Step 3. head straight for any jump you can find - the bigger the better

Here are the girls yesterday at Nashoba Valley.

Filmed with a DroidX phone (not bad, huh?)

Management offisite starts with a morning hike

on January 12th, 2011 at 9:57:24 AM

We just finished our quarterly Acquia management team offsite where we had two days of intense discussion about our business and plans for the future. The meeting was held in a house in New Hampshire on the side of a ski mountain. While there was no time for skiing, a few of us went out for an early dawn hike up the ski trails - great way to start the day.

First ski day of the season

on December 31st, 2010 at 7:44:21 AM

The kids and I skied at Wachusett this week. After the 12" new snow we got on Sunday, the conditions were perfect. Their favorite trail is Ralph's Run, the long one on the far right side of the mountain. The kids picked up right where they left off last spring and skied fine. I went down slowly with Paige while Elizabeth raced to the bottom and waited for us. The season is off to a good start.

Happy holidays!

We went green this year with a web card instead of a printed one. I built the site and my husband filled up the gallery with photos. Enjoy!  And happy new year!

Brackett School site on Drupal

on November 24th, 2010 at 6:32:19 AM

My kids' school site was upgraded to Drupal a few months ago - yay! One of the other parents volunteers his time to host and manage the site and I'm helping train people to use the site. Our PTO president is fantastic about posting new content and getting events on the front page. And now that we're on Drupal it's time for lots of other people to start adding content. There are dozens (maybe hundreds) of very active volunteers at our school and our website should reflect our active community by having lots of parents and teachers post news and events. We kicked things off with a training session last week at our house for several parents who chair committees like the Art Squad and the Science & Math Team. None of them had used Drupal or even a CMS tool, but they all got it right away. Now that they're trained up, my next goal is to encourage them to start posting so we get new names up on the site.

Kris Lohan (my sis) is running the Boston Marathon

on November 14th, 2010 at 7:00:00 PM

Kris is running the Boston Marathon on April 18th as a member of The Leukemia & Lymphoma Society's (LLS) Team. The Leukemia Society does amazing research and the treatments that they pioneered added years to my Dad's life. Dad passed away last summer but our family will continue to support the critical work that the Leukemia Society does to keep other patients alive. Please donate to Kris and help save lives. Thank you
