We hiked a counterclockwise lollipop route. After a steep climb on the Sandwich Mountain Trail, we reached a viewpoint near Noon Peak (2,976′). Then we continued on the trail to a spur to Jennings Peak (3,440′) which has the best view of this loop. Lastly, we submitted Sandwich Dome (3,993′), and then made our way down Drake’s Brook Trail. We avoided the initial crossing of Drake’s brook by waking up the road and cutting in. But we crossed the brook on the way back, when there was only a half mile left. The crossing is wide and we had to step on rocks with about 2 inches of water.
