Spent a weekend in November in Crawford Notch in the White Mountains of NH with a small group of women. We stayed at the AMC Highland Center, which gives you access to multiple trailheads. Hiked Mount Willard and Mount Avalon (good and steep) and had training sessions on map and compass navigation and hiking first aid.
